After serving 15 years as president of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham, John Fogarty plans to retire in January 2027.
In an email statement to the Observer, Dean Carucci, divisional president, community, Beth Israel Lahey Health said that under Fogarty’s leadership, “BID Needham has strengthened its service to the community by expanding specialty care, recruiting highly skilled clinicians and staff, fostering a culture of excellence, and consistently meeting the highest standards of care.”
In 2024 Fogarty launched a $40 million capital campaign for the hospital called Transforming Healthcare Here focused on innovation, workforce and enhancements to the Needham campus.
“We are deeply thankful for John’s exceptional leadership, dedication and strategic vision, which have driven significant growth and progress across BID Needham,” said Carucci.
The hospital did not yet have information about plans regarding a successor to Fogarty.
