A 16-year old Needham resident has been charged with murder, aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a firearm in relation to an October homicide that occurred in the area of 1855 Washington St. in Roxbury.
According to Boston Police, officers responding to a report of a shooting in the early afternoon of Oct. 13 came upon an adult female suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
“The victim was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. The victim has since been identified as 61-year-old Marie Molea-Anthony of Boston,” according to a Boston Police Department statement.
According to other BPD reports, the Needham juvenile was arrested in late December after police found a loaded gun in his pocket while conducting a frisk in Roxbury.
He “appeared hypervigilant and was observed swinging his left arm freely while keeping his right arm pinned tightly against his jacket, with his hand holding an object inside the front pocket,” police said at the time.
The juvenile has been in custody since his December arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court at a future date.
