SUMMARY:Puppet Exhibit & Performance at Gorse Mill Studios
DESCRIPTION:During July and August\, the Gorse Mill Gallery is presenting an exhibit of puppets and puppet theater by Needham artist John Lechner. The exhibit will include hand puppets\, marionettes\, shadow puppets\, rod puppets\, and crankies created by the artist over the last thirty years. There will be a free reception for all ages on Saturday July 11th from 3-5 pm\, with a puppet demonstration and performance at 3:30. \n \nIncluded in the exhibit will be puppet stages and scenery as well as puppets by the artist\, some never before displayed. At the reception John will demonstrate how the stages work\, and perform with many of the puppets on display. Refreshments will be served. \nThe exhibit will be on display from July 6 – August 23\, 2026. DESCRIPTION:Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are invited to join the Charles River Center’s 16th annual 5K Run/1 Mile Walk on Sunday\, Sept. 27\, 2026. Starting at 10 a.m.\, the event begins and ends at Charles River Center\, 59 East Militia Heights Drive. The scenic 5K course winds through Needham and Wellesley. \n\nProceeds benefit the Charles River Center\, a not-for-profit human services agency that provides programs and services for more than 1\,000 children and adults with disabilities. \n\nFollowing the 5K Run/1 Mile Walk\, participants are invited to enjoy food\, refreshments and music. \n\nVolunteers are needed\, and high school students can earn hours toward graduation service requirements. \n\nTo register as a runner or walker – or to volunteer – visit www.charlesriverroadrace.com.
