Following two scrubbed attempts, the Boeing Starliner spacecraft launched Wednesday with Needham’s Sunita Williams in the pilot’s seat, heading to the International Space Station. The mission is a crew flight test in partnership with NASA’s commercial crew program. If all goes as planned, Williams and fellow astronaut Butch Wilmore will work on board the ISS for eight days. No confirmation yet on whether Williams will be able to connect with Needham school students while in space. This is Williams’ fourth space flight.
