After several months of renovations, Needham Garden Center recently reopened its new-concept store that includes a full line of hardware products and services. The space, which expanded into the front of the building it shared with Learning Express, more than doubled the capacity for merchandise.

Contracted as a True Value hardware store, the longtime garden center fills the void left by the closing of Harvey’s Hardware. Now, its shelves are lined with all the tools and supplies a DIYer might need, and shoppers can search for items in the Needham store through the True Value website.
“I’m liking the fact that we have all these new things and there’s way more traffic,” said owner Garrett Graham. “It’s fun to learn the new business.”
The store now offers services also once provided by Harvey’s, such as key cutting, propane, and grill sales and onsite repair. Graham said they hope to have screen repair services in place by spring. The Garden Center has added landscape and plant consultations as well. “Becky will go out to people’s houses, check out their gardens, figure out what’s going on, do layout and make recommendations,” he said.
Graham said they will have an official grand opening on Sept. 21. “We were waiting for everyone to get back from Cape Cod.”
