The tables are set and the doors are ready to open at Needham’s latest dining spot. Conrad’s Casual Dining, which replaces Bertucci’s at 1257 Highland Ave., will begin full lunch and dinner service Feb. 13.

The Needham restaurant joins three others in owner Bobby Conrad’s chain. He describes the vibe as a place where families can have dinner and couples can be comfortable having a drink at the bar. “It’s not fine dining and it’s not a sports pub,” said Conrad. “It’s comfort food with a comfort feel.”

Best known for its steak tips — making more than 4,000 pounds a week — Conrad’s menu staples include a variety of options. “Steak tips, seafood, salads and pizza. That’s what we do,” said Conrad. After a few weeks to slowly roll out service, he said he plans to add specials such as prime rib and lobster to the menu as well. “Our specialty items will be a little bit more the things you don’t get every day,” he said. “We like to keep our menu more family priced.” The restaurant will also feature a “reserve” drink menu of fine wines.

At the back of the restaurant, customers can reserve a 70-seat private function room for events such as baby and bridal showers. “I think that’s going to be a big attraction for us,” said Conrad, who noted there are very few places in town for private events.

Neponset River Regional Chamber recently named Conrad’s the 2025 Small Business of the Year for its involvement in the community, something Conrad said is a primary focus for him. “If you have a business in town and you’re making money, you have to give back,” he said. “We just like to be involved.” He said he is excited to be part of the Needham community and to work with the town’s sports teams and schools.
