11/20/2023 to 11/26/2023

  • On 11/20/23 at approximately 8:52 AM an Officer responded to Hoover Rd in regard to a neighbor dispute. The issue was resolved, and the reporting resident was offered options.
  • On 11/20/23 at approximately 11:18 AM an Officer responded to a Highland Ave address concerning a male who was suspected of trespassing. The suspect was issued a new verbal trespass notice by the business and left the premises without further incident.
  • On 11/20/23 at approximately 2:35 PM an Officer responded to a First Ave address regarding a past trespass incident. The incident was documented.
  • On 11/20/23 at approximately 6:55 PM an Officer took a report of extortion from a resident of 2nd Avenue. The incident has been documented.
  • On 11/20/23 at approximately 10:23 PM an Officer responded to a motor vehicle crash on Central Ave.  The crash resulted in two vehicles being damaged and towed from the scene in addition to a town sign being damaged.  One of the operators, a 30-year-old Newton man, was summoned into court for Negligent Operation of Motor Vehicle and Marked Lanes Violation.
  • On 11/20/23 at approximately 10:00 AM an Officer was informed of Vandalism at a Webster St address.
  • On 11/21/23 at approximately 10:15 AM an Officer took a report from a Meadowbrook Road resident regarding check fraud.
  • On 11/21/23 at approximately 2:16 PM an Officer responded to a Central Avenue address and euthanized an injured deer.
  • On 11/21/23 at approximately 3:50 PM a Greendale Avenue resident reported personal check they mailed in Needham had been stolen and altered to a different recipient for a different amount.
  • On 11/21/23 at approximately 4:32 PM an Officer stopped a motor vehicle on Linden St. After a brief investigation, a 32-year-old resident of Dedham, MA was issued a summons for uninsured motor vehicle and operating an Unregistered motor vehicle.
  • On 11/21/23 at approximately 5:10 PM Officers responded to the area of Highland Avenue and May Street for a report of a suspicious person running in between traffic. The person was located and advised to avoid running in between traffic and stay on the sidewalk and they agreed to do so.
  • On 11/22/23 at approximately 5:10 PM Officers responded to the intersection of May St and Pickering St for a 2-vehicle accident.  The two vehicles involved were both towed away from the roadway.
  • On 11/23/23 at approximately 4:43 PM Officers responded to the area of Kendrick St for a report potential vandalism.  After a brief investigation it was found that an individual was attempting to clean up an area and not to vandalize it. 
  • On 11/23/23 at approximately 9:02 PM n Needham resident reported that they had left their cell phone in an Uber and that their account had been compromised.
  • On 11/25/23 at approximately 2:10 PM and Officer responded to a crash on Border Rd.
  • On 11/26/23 at approximately 10:00 AM an Officer responded to a report of vandalism at a Linden St address. The matter remains under investigation.

11/13/2023 to 11/19/2023

  • On 11/13/23 at approximately 9:30 AM Officers responded to a 2nd Ave address for the report of a suspicious party. Officers canvassed the area with negative results.
  • On 11/13/23 at approximately 10:00 AM an Officer was notified that a person’s phone was lost or stolen at a Harris Ave address.
  • On 11/13/23 at approximately 1:15 PM an Officer was notified of a crash between a motorist and a cyclist at a Gould St address. Both parties agreed that there was barely any contact and they both went on their way with no damage or injury.
  • On 11/14/23 at approximately 7:45 AM an Officer responded to a Meadowbrook Rd for a report of possible vandalism. Nothing further at this time.
  • On 11/14/23 at approximately 1:38 PM a Grove St. resident entered HQ to report losing a prescription.
  • On 11/14/23 at approximately 7:50 PM an Officer took a report of a past disturbance at a Roscoe St address.
  • On 11/14/23 at approximately 9:21 AM a Lee Rd resident came in to report a larceny. This is under investigation.
  • On 11/15/23 at approximately 8:40 AM an Officer was dispatched to Hillside Ave address for a report of an unwanted party. A plan was worked out to resolve the ongoing issue.
  • On 11/15/23 at approximately 10:28 AM an Officer conducted a traffic stop on Hillside Ave near West Street.  The operator provided an Ecuadorian Passport and stated that he does not have a license.  A 35-year-old male party currently residing in Lawrence will be summoned to Court for Unlicensed Operation of MV and Unregistered MV.
  • On 11/15/23 at approximately 6:00 PM an Officer met with an Ellicott St resident concerning a potential fraud. The reporting party stated they found suspicious activity on their credit check. The incident is currently under investigation.
  • On 11/16/23 at approximately 10:15 AM an Officer took a phone report from a Park Ave resident reporting identity fraud. The victim has reported the matter to the proper agencies, and they have not had any money stolen.
  • On 11/15/23 at approximately 4:00 PM an Officer took a report over the phone of a suspicious event regarding an online car sale. The reporting party was concerned about an individual they sold a car to. After reviewing the matter and gathering more information it appears there was simply a clerical error in the car sale.
  • On 11/17/23 at approximately 3:30 PM a report was taken for ongoing thefts at a 1st Ave address. Investigation to follow.
  • On 11/17/23 at approximately 4:14 PM Officers were dispatched to a Chestnut St address for the report of a disturbance. Peace was restored and the parties moved along without further incident.
  • On 11/18/23 at approximately 1:25 AM an Officer was dispatched to a Central Ave address for report of a motorist in need of assistance.  The operator of the vehicle was provided a courtesy transport home. 
  • On 11/19/23 at approximately 12:39 AM an Officer responded to a Chestnut Street address on report of a disagreement. The reporting party was advised of possible recourses they may have.
  • On 11/19/23 at approximately 1:17 PM an Officer responded to a Chambers Street residence for the report of a larceny involving a delivery package. The matter remains under investigation.

  • On 11/6/23 at approximately 11:25 AM an Officer responded to a Chapel Street business for a report of vandalism to a vehicle that occurred on 11/03.
  • On 11/6/23 at approximately 11:20 AM an Officer responded to a Lester Road address for a report of Fraud. The reporting person was advised, and the incident was documented.
  • On 11/6/23 at approximately 3:07 PM a Wellesley Ave resident reported that two cell phones they ordered were stolen before they arrived at their house.
  • On 11/6/23 at around 5:42 PM an Officer responded to a Pilgrim Rd residence for a report of a suspicious motor vehicle.
  • On 11/7/23 at approximately 11:15 AM an Officer responded to a disturbance at a Hillside Ave address. A resolution has been facilitated.
  • On 11/7/23 at approximately 10:54 AM an Officer was dispatched to a Charles River St for a report of stolen bee hives and equipment.
  • On 11/7/23 at approximately 11:47 AM Officers were dispatched to a Highland Ave address for a suspicious person. This person was spoken to and issued a letter of disinvite.
  • On 11/8/23 at approximately 11:36 AM an Officer responded to a Concord Street address for a fraudulent loan application. The incident was documented and is under investigation.
  • On 11/8/23 at approximately 1:54 PM an Officer responded to a Central Ave address for a report of a past larceny. The matter was documented and is currently under investigation.
  • On 11/8/23 at approximately 11:01 AM a Needham resident came in to report a larceny. This is under investigation.
  • On 11/9/23 at approximately 8:39 AM an Officer responded to a GREAT PLAIN AVE for a report of a hit and run. After investigating the incident, a 38-year-old Gardner, MA male will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage.
  • On 11/9/23 at approximately 11:41 AM an Officer responded to a CENTRAL AVE address to take a report of a past assault.
  • On 11/9/23 at approximately 4:58 PM an Officer responded to the area of Dedham Avenue at South Street for a report of a disabled motor vehicle.
  • On 11/9/23 at approximately 9:43 PM an Officer spoke to a Webster Street resident regarding suspicious phone calls. The incident was documented.
  • On /10/23 at approximately 4:04 PM Officers responded to a Highland Ave location for a disturbance. The incident was documented.
  • On 11/11/23 at approximately 11:30 AM Officers responded to a Chestnut St address for a past disturbance. The matter was resolved at the scene peacefully.
  • On 11/11/23 at approximately 2:27 PM an Officer took a report regarding a possible larceny of a wallet and credit cards from a Highland Ave business. The matter was documented and is currently under investigation.
  • On 11/12/23 at approximately 9:46 AM an Officer responded to a Cabot St address for a report of a B&E to a motor vehicle. The incident was investigated and documented.

10/30/2023 to 11/05/2023

  • On 10/30/23 at approximately 12:00 PM an Officer took a walk-in report from a Hunnewell Street resident regarding theft from a checking account. The matter is still under investigation.
  • On 10/30/23 at approximately 1:30 PM an Officer took a report of suspicious texts. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 10/31/23 at approximately 3:30 PM an Officer responded to an Oak Hill Road address for a report of a property damage accident. A plan to fix the damage was facilitated.
  • On 10/31/23 at approximately 2:43 PM an Officer was dispatched to the area of Highland Ave near Cottage Rd for the report of a trailer that was struck, and the vehicle fled the scene. A search found the vehicle in a nearby parking lot and after a short search the operator was located. The operator, a 68-year-old Florida resident will be summoned to court for leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
  • On 11/1/23 at approximately 8:38 AM an Officer responded to a MORTON ST for a report of a past larceny of a check. The reporting party stated that he had placed a check into the outdoor mailbox of the Heights post office where it was subsequently stolen, washed, and cashed. The matter is under investigation. 
  • On 11/1/23 at approximately 11:30 AM Officers were dispatched to a Broadmeadow Rd address for the report of a suspicious party taking photos. This party was spoken to, and the incident was documented.
  • On 11/1/23 at approximately 11:54 AM an Officer responded to a Central Avenue address for an ongoing noise complaint. The issue is being worked out.
  • On 11/1/23 at approximately 12:59 PM an employee of a 1st Ave business reported a suspicious patron.
  • On 11/1/23 at approximately 5:20 PM an Officer was Dispatched to a Highland Court residence for a fraud report.
  • On 11/2/23 at approximately 10:30 AM an Officer took a report of online threats from a Webster St address. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 11/2/23 at approximately 4:49 PM a unit responded to a Highland Avenue business to take a report of a larceny. The incident has been documented.
  • On 11/2/23 at approximately 5:42 PM an Officer took a report of a suspicious person from a Webster St address. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 11/3/23 at approximately 12:46 PM a Prospect Street resident came into the station to report fraud. The incident was documented, and the resident was advised.
  • On 11/3/23 at approximately 1:01 PM a Parish Road resident came into the station to report fraudulent activity. The incident was documented, and the resident was advised.
  • On 11/3/23 at approximately 10:36 AM an Officer spoke to a Lee Road resident about fraudulent activity. The incident was documented and under investigation.
  • On 11/3/23 at approximately 12:38 PM a resident came into the station to report fraud. The incident was documented and under investigation.
  • On 11/4/23 at approximately 7:52 AM an Officer observed multiple residents on Plymouth Rd in their yards pointing to Prince St near Kerrydale Rd and saw heavy smoke coming from a house. The Officer notified dispatch of the house fire and Needham Fire and Police were dispatched.
  • On 11/4/23 at 3:15pm an Officer responded to a Canavan Cir address for a report of a suspicious email.  That matter was documented.
  • On 11/5/23 at approximately 12:46 AM an Officer responded to a Gould Street address for report of an injured rabbit.  The animal was located and euthanized.
  • On 11/5/23 at approximately 1:00 AM Units responded to a disturbance at a Highland Ave business.  The parties involved were separated and peace was restored. 
  • On 11/5/23 at approximately 10:43 AM an Officer responded to a Kendrick Street address for a report of an ongoing noise complaint. The matter was addressed with the involved parties, a resolution reached, and the incident was documented.

  • On 10/23/23 at approximately 10:11 AM an Officer took a report of identity fraud. The reporting party, a Damon Road resident, stated that his personal information was used to open a bank account in his name. The reporting party was advised to contact the credit reporting agencies about the incident.
  • On 10/23/23 at approximately 12:45 PM an Officer took a report from a Birch St resident for a report of identity theft. The reporting party explained their identity was used in order to open an account and purchase a cell phone. The party was advised, and the matter was documented.
  • On 10/23/23 at approximately 3:03 PM an Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on Hunting Rd. Following a brief investigation, the operator, a 70-year-old Stoughton woman, was issued a criminal citation for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration.
  • On 10/23/23 at approximately 4:39 PM an Officer took a report from a 2nd Ave resident regarding an online larceny.
  • On 10/23/23 at approximately 4:22 PM a South Street resident reported an attempted fraud via Craig’s List. The resident realized it was a scam and no finical lost was reported.
  • On 10/23/23 at approximately 4:24 PM Officers responded to a High Street address for a report of neighbor troubles.  Peace was restored and the incident was documented.
  • On 10/23/23 at approximately 9:45 PM a walk in reported that he could not find his vehicle. A search of the area located the vehicle.
  • On 10/24/23 at approximately 12:00 PM an Officer took a report from a Farley Pond Ln resident regarding check fraud. The reporting party explained two mailed checks had been stolen and altered in a different amount. The reporting party was advised, and the matter was documented.
  • On 10/24/23 at approximately 1:30 PM a report was taken from a Chestnut Street business for several past shopliftings. Report taken and ongoing investigation.
  • On 10/24/23 at approximately 2:00 PM a report was taken from a Pickering Street resident involving fraudulent use of her credit card. Report filed.
  • On 10/24/23 at approximately 6:04 PM an Officer responded to a Morton Street address for a report of a dog barking.  The dog was brought inside, and the matter was documented.
  • On 10/25/23 at approximately 12:56 PM an Officer came upon a minor motor vehicle crash on Dedham Ave.  No injuries were reported.  One of the vehicle operators reported that she did not have a license and provided a Brazilian passport.  A 37-year-old female party currently residing in Walpole MA will be summoned to Court for Unlicensed operation of a MV. 
  • On 10/23/23 at approximately 2:38 PM a Sutton Rd resident reported their insurance company was the victim of a hack. They did not report they were a victim, they just wanted it on file.
  • On 10/25/23 at approximately 3:35 PM a Chestnut Street business report a past larceny via check fraud.
  • On 10/25/23 at approximately 6:30 PM Officers responded to the Hersey MBTA Lower parking lot for a caller reporting that a golf ball had broken the back window to their vehicle.
  • On 10/25/23 at approximately 11:00 AM a Newton resident emailed an Officer about a vandalism in Cutler Park.
  • On 10/26/23 at approximately 10:53 AM a Sutton Rd resident reported ID fraud. This matter is under investigation.
  • On 10/27/23 at approximately 8:29 AM a Great Plain Ave resident reported check fraud. This matter is under investigation.
  • On 10/27/23 approximately 5:15 PM an Officer was notified that some individuals broke into a Webster St address. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 10/27/23 at approximately 6:00 PM an Officer was notified of a suspicious male at Memorial Field. Officers encountered the individual. He was no trespassed from the field and the incident is under investigation.
  • On 10/27/23 at approximately 8:36 PM an Officer was informed that a male party had stolen a hand cart full of meat from a Chestnut St business. Further investigation to follow.
  • On 10/27/23 at approximately 4:00 PM a Ware Road resident reported his bank account, and a credit card account were compromised, and cash was fraudulently withdrawn, and his credit card was fraudulently charged.
  • On 10/28/23 at approximately 9:22 PM Officers responded to a High Street address for a report of neighbor troubles.  Peace was restored and the incident was documented.
  • On 10/29/23 at approximately 4:00 AM Officers responded to a Greendale Ave address for a report of a house fire.  Officers were able to assist the resident with safely getting out of the home and provided support for the Needham Fire Department while they extinguished the fire.

10/16/2023 to 10/22/2023

  • On 10/12/23 at approximately 7:38 AM an Officer took a report of suspicious online activity at a Webster St address.
  • On 10/16/23 at approximately 10:34 AM a Central Ave resident reports a shipment to her house was missing one item that was reportedly shipped.  It appears the missing item was never shipped.
  • On 10/16/23 at approximately 12:46 PM an Officer responded to a Rosemary St business for a report of a past B&E. The matter is under investigation.
  • On 10/16/23 at approximately 1:31 PM Officers responded to an Ina Road address for a civil matter. All parties were advised, and the incident was documented.
  • On 10/17/23 at approximately 6:50 AM an Officer was dispatched to a Cynthia Road address for report of a stolen motor vehicle.  The victim explained that the vehicle was parked in the driveway of the residence.  When he went out to his car this morning, he noticed the car was missing and his garage door was open. 
  • On 10/17/23 at approximately 11:00 AM an Officer took a report from a Coolidge Ave resident that his son’s vehicle was reportedly to be struck in the Memorial Park parking lot around 9:40 am.
  • On 10/18/23 at approximately 2:30 PM an Officer took a walk-in report from an employee of a Chestnut St address regarding past threats. The incident was only verbal in nature and is being investigated by the Human Resource Dept. of the facility.
  • On 10/18/23 at approximately 9:00 PM Officers were dispatched to a Linden Street address for a disturbance. Upon arrival the disturbance had resolved, and assistance was provided.
  • On 10/19/23 at approximately 10:20 AM an employee of a Central Ave business reported their car was entered into overnight and her purse was taken.
  • On 10/19/23 at approximately 10:00 AM an Officer was dispatched to a Highland Terrace address for a parking violation. The registration of the vehicle was found to be revoked due to insurance cancellation. The vehicle was subsequently towed from the scene.
  • On 10/16/23 at approximately 1:03 PM Officers responded to a Rosemary St address for a past breaking and entering that took place on Sunday 10/15/2023 around 9:20 pm. There were multiple businesses burglarized.
  • On 10/19/23 at approximately 3:15 PM an Officer was informed that two people stole items from a Webster St address.
  • On 10/20/23 at 11:24 AM a Captain Robert Cook Dr resident reported their passport and birth certificate were stolen.
  • On 10/20/23 at approximately 12:45 PM an Officer took a report from a resident of Woodbine Cir. The reporting party explained a contractor working next door caused damage to their fence. The matter was documented, and the party was advised.
  • On 10/20/23 at approximately 3:00 PM an Officer took a report from a Lindbergh Ave resident. The reporting party explained their identity was used to make a purchase at a store. The matter was documented, and the party was advised.
  • On 10/20/23 at approximately 2:40 PM an Officer was dispatched to a Linden St address for a report that a male party was assaulted. The victim stated he was at his girlfriend’s house when he was sucker punched by a male party unknown to him.
  • On 10/20/23 at approximately 3:17 PM an Officer responded to a GREENDALE AVE address for a Suspicious Person. The matter is under investigation.
  • On 10/21/23 at approximately 9:30 AM a Marked Tree Rd resident inquired about civil issue.  Party was advised of her rights.
  • On 10/21/23 at approximately 11:41 AM an Officer responded to a 2nd Ave address for a past incident involving a dog. The officer spoke with the involved parties and the incident was documented.
  • On 10/21/23 at approximately 5:30 PM Officers responded to the intersection of Central Ave and Reservoir Street for a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.  The pedestrian was transported to the hospital and the incident was investigated.
  • On 10/22/23 at approximately 8:30 PM a Winfield Rd. resident reported someone had cashed a fraudulent check against his bank account.  The matter is under investigation.
  • On 10/22/23 at approximately 6:02 PM an Officer met with a resident of Pickering Street related to suspicious activity on their credit report. The reporting party saw some unknown activity attached to their most recent credit report and wanted to file a police report. The Officer assisted the party in filing the report and advised them of the necessary steps to take moving forward to help safeguard their identity.
  • On 10/22/23 at approximately 6:16 PM an Officer responded to a Linden Street address for a report of a person being harassed. The matter has been documented.

10/9/2023 to 10/15/2023

  • On Monday, October 9, 2023 at approximately 8:00 AM, an Officer was assigned to responded to a Hamilton Place address to assists Needham Fire Department with a fire alarm.
  • On Monday, October 9, 2023, at approximately 3:38 AM Officers were dispatched to the Great Plain Ave Post Office in response to a mailbox alarm.  The mailbox alarm was set off and the Postal Inspector contacted Needham Dispatch.  The incident is being investigated.
  • On 10/10/2023 at approximately 5:03 PM an Officer conducted a traffic stop. The operator reported that they did not have a license to operate and provided a Brazilian passport.  A 41 year old male party currently residing in Marlboro MA will be summoned to Court for Unlicensed Operation of a MV and Unregistered MV. 
  • On 10/11/2023 at approximately 4:42 AM an Officer was dispatched to a Parish Road address for the report of a disturbance.
  • On October 10th, 2023 an Officer took a report of a larceny at a Webster set address.
  • On 10/11/2023 at approximately 1:43PM an Officer responded to a Highland Ave business for a report of a disturbance. The incident was determined to be verbal in nature and both parties were separated prior to unit’s arrival. The reporting party was provided relevant assistance and peace restored without issue. 
  • On 10/11/2023 at approximately 1:00 pm an Officer took a report from a Plymouth Rd resident regarding credit card fraud. The reporting party was advised on what steps to take and the matter was documented. 
  • On October 11, 2023 at 3:30 PM a report was taken for a check that was fraudulently cashed after it was stolen from a US Post Officer mailbox. Investigation to follow. 
  • On 10/11/2023 officers were dispatched to Mason Road for the report of neighbor trouble. A report was generated to document the incident.
  • On 10/12/2023 at approximately 4:15PM an Officer responded to a Walker Lane address for a report of a past hit and run. The matter is under investigation.
  • On 10/12/23 a Chamber Street resident reported on going issues with a neighbor. 
  • On 10/13/2023 a Sherman St resident came into HQ to report he lost his passport and needed a police report to get a replacement. 
  • On 10/13/23 at around 6:13 PM, an Officer responded to a Blacksmith Dr. residence for a report of fraud. The reporting party reported a mailed check had been altered and cashed. They had already taken precautionary steps to protect themselves financially. A report was taken.
  • On 10/14/23 at approximately 10:30 AM an Officer responded to a Highland Ave address regarding suspicious phone calls. There were no threats of any kind of violence.
  • On October 14th at 9:00 PM Officers responded to a Chestnut Street business for a disturbance. One 34 year old male from Woburn was arrested for two outstanding warrants.
  • On 10/15/2023 at approximately 2:58 AM, Officers responded to a 2nd Ave address for a report of a party who reported suspicious activity. The matter has been documented and as a result of this incident, a 19 Year Old Needham Resident will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for M.G.L Chapter 268 Section 13B Misleading a Police Officer. 
  • On 10/15/23 A party reported her debit card was stolen at Panera Bread. This matter is under investigation.

10/2/2023 to 10/8/2023

  • On 10/2/23 at approximately 11:12 AM a walk-in party reported check fraud. The victim reported the fraud to their Bank and the matter is under investigation.
  • On 10/2/23 at approximately 12:18 PM a Grosvenor Rd resident reported vandalism to their vehicle.
  • On 10/2/23 at approximately 7:53 PM an Officer was dispatched to Linden Street for a report of harassment via text messages. The other party was identified and instructed to cease all communication. The incident was documented.
  • On 10/3/23 at approximately 1:52 PM an Officer responded to a Highland Ave address for a reported passed fraudulent $100 bill that occurred on the evening of 10/02. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 10/3/23 at approximately 6:35 PM Officers responded to a Broadmeadow Road address for a report of a disturbance. Peace was restored and the matter has been documented.
  • On 10/4/23 at approximately 12:45 PM an Officer took a report of vandalism to the white tent in the square.
  • On 10/4/23 at approximately 2:44 PM an Officer responded to a Chestnut Street business for a report of a suspicious item that had been recovered. The item in question was seized for destruction without issue.
  • On 10/4/23 at approximately 3:57 PM an Officer responded to a Highland Avenue business for an unwanted person. The incident has been documented.
  • On 10/5/23 at approximately 9:30 AM Officer took a report of suspicious letters received at a Highland Ave address.
  • On 10/5/23 at approximately 7:23 PM a person walked into Needham Police Headquarters to report an on-line extortion scam.
  • On 10/6/23 at approximately 2:00 AM an Officer made a report of mailbox B&E at the Post Office in Needham Square. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 10/6/23 at approximately 8:46 AM an Officer conducted a traffic stop on Rt128N/ Highland on ramp for Expired Registration and Using an Electronic Device (cell phone).  The operator reported that they did not have driver’s license and provided a Guatemalan I.D.  A 27-year-old female party currently residing in Waltham will be summoned to Court for Unlicensed Operation of a MV and Unregistered MV.
  • On 10/6/23 at approximately 10:00 AM an Officer responded to a Woodbine Circle address to assist another agency in a vehicle inspection. The vehicle was determined to be stolen and towed from the scene.
  • On 10/6/23 at approximately 12:07 PM an Officer took a report of a neighbor issue at a Greendale Ave residence.
  • On 10/6/23 at approximately 1:46 PM A walk-in party reported identity fraud. The Reporting Person stated a bank account was opened under her name 2 weeks ago. The RP closed the account, and no money was ever taken. The RP will contact credit bureaus.
  • On 10/6/23 at approximately 1:55 PM an Officer responded to a Lincoln St address for a report of a past disturbance between two parties. There have been measures taken to maintain the peace. The matter was documented.
  • On 10/6/23 at approximately 3:52 PM a Morningside Ave resident reported being alerted that his social security number may being used. The victim had no other info but wanted the incident documented.
  • On 10/6/23 at approximately 5:21 PM an Officer took a report of a larceny that took place at a Highland Ave business.  The matter is under investigation.
  • 10/7/23 at approximately 8:00 AM Officers responded to a Greendale Ave residence for an audible alarm sounding. Entry was made to the residence, and nothing was out of the ordinary. It was then re-secured by officers on scene.
  • On 10/7/23 at approximately 10:35 AM Officers responded to a Highland Ave business for a past shoplifting. The suspect was identified and per staff request was verbally no trespassed from the store. The business did not want to press charges and the items were returned without incident.
  • On 10/7/23 at approximately 7:04 PM a Bridge St resident reported her vehicle was not returned to her and wanted to report it stolen. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 10/8/23 at approximately 8:05 AM an Officer took reports of three motor vehicles that were broken into on Stratford Rd and Bridle Trail. The matter is under investigation.
  • On 10/8/23 at approximately 8:47 PM a Rosemary St resident reported suspicious messages via iPhone.  The matter is under investigation.

  • On 9/28/23 at approximately 11:13 AM an Officer stopped a motor vehicle on Gould Street. After a brief investigation the operator, a 38-year-old Newton man, was placed under arrest for three outstanding arrest warrants.
  • On 9/25/23 at approximately 12:30 PM an Officer took a report of fraud from a Cabot St business.
  • On 9/26/23 at approximately 3:30 PM an Officer responded to a Forest Street address for a report of a lost iPhone. The incident was documented.
  • On 9/26/23 at approximately 9:24 AM a Highland Ave business reported that a check they put in a mailbox was stolen and the payee altered. The party was given advice.
  • On 9/26/23 at approximately 12:48 PM an Officer took a report from a Charles River St address about fraud.
  • On 9/26/23 at approximately 5:19 PM a 34-year-old resident of Milford, MA was issued a summons for attaching plates and inspection sticker violation as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Webster Street.
  • On 9/27/23 at approximately 8:10 AM an Officer took a report from a Woodledge Rd resident about her son’s bike being stolen. It was parked at the bike rack at the High School on September 15th and they just found out it was missing.
  • On 9/22/23 at approximately 11:19 AM an Officer took a report about a check that was stolen from a Donna Rd resident and cashed fraudulently. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 9/27/23 at approximately 9:20 PM an Officer took an identity fraud report over the phone for a Central Ave resident.  The incident was documented, and the victim will take steps to secure their identity.
  • On 9/28/23 at approximately 2:40 PM an Officer took a report of Check fraud from a Highland Ave business.
  • On 9/28/23 at approximately 2:40 PM an Officer responded to a HIGHLAND AVE business for a LARCENY FROM PERSON. The reporting party stated that her wallet had been stolen from her purse while shopping. The matter is currently under investigation.
  • On 9/28/23 at approximately 6:00 PM an Officer responded to a Highland Ave business to assist a party with legal affairs.
  • On 9/28/23 at approximately 8:00 PM an Officer took a larceny report from a Pheasant Landing Road who stated they had packages stolen.  The incident is under investigation. 
  • On 9/29/23 at approximately 10:09 AM an Officer responded to a report of  fraudulent activity at a Deerfield Road address. The incident was documented.
  • On 9/29/23 at approximately 3:55 PM an Officer investigated the report of a cell phone that was taken from a patron at a Highland Ave business.
  • On 9/29/23 at approximately 11:41 PM Officers responded to a 2nd Avenue address for a disturbance between former roommates.  Peace was restored and the matter was documented.
  • On 9/30/23 at approximately 2:37 PM a walk-in reported being a victim of a hit and run crash this morning at 7:30 AM. The reporting person was operating his vehicle on South St near the intersection of Webster St in Needham.  A vehicle traveling on South St in the opposite direction struck the driver’s side mirror, of reporting person’s vehicle causing damage, and did not stop.

  • On 9/22/23 at approximately 5:00 PM an Officer stopped a motor vehicle on Charles River St. After a brief investigation, a 30-year-old Framingham man was arrested under a straight warrant from Gloucester District Court.
  • On 9/22/23 at approximately 8:55 PM Officers responded to a disturbance at a Greendale Ave address. After a brief investigation, a 20-year-old Hyde Park man was arrested under a straight warrant from Dedham District Court.
  • On 9/18/23 at approximately 2:25 AM an Officer responded to a Great Plain Ave business for an alarm activation. An Officer observed a vehicle fleeing the scene. The Officer attempted to stop the vehicle. It fled and did not stop. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 9/19/23 at approximately 6:52 PM an Officer responded to a Highland Ave business for a report of a possible stolen cell phone. The incident was investigated and documented. The victim was advised.
  • On 9/19/23 at approximately 12:20 PM Officers responded to a Highland Ave business for a report of a disturbance. The involved party left prior to the officer’s arrival and was later advised they are not allowed at the business. The reporting party was advised to send a letter of disinvite.
  • On 9/19/23 at approximately 2:00 PM Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Chestnut and High Rock Street for the report of a two-car crash. As a result of the investigation a Norwood woman will be summoned to court for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to yield at an intersection.
  • On 9/19/23 an Officer spoke with a homeowner who had some civil leasing questions.
  • On 9/20/23 at approximately 1:02 PM an Officer conducted a traffic stop on Great Plain Ave near Glendoon Rd for a crosswalk violation.  The operator provided a Massachusetts learners permit and did not have a licensed party with them.  A 26-year-old female party residing in Abington MA will be summoned to Court for Unlicensed Operation of a MV and a Crosswalk Violation.
  • On 9/20/23 at approximately 2:43 PM a Fairview Rd resident came into HQ to report that a fraudulent bank account had been opened. They were given advice on how to proceed.
  • On 9/20/23 at approximately 2:00 PM an Officer took a past report of shoplifting from a Highland Ave business. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 9/20/23 at approximately 2:50 PM a Broadmeadow Rd resident came into HQ to report she fell victim to a scam. They were given advice on how to proceed.
  • On 9/20/23 at approximately 2:46 PM an Officer responded to a Lantern Lane residence for a report of property destruction. An agreement between the neighbors is being worked out to repair the damages.
  • On 9/20/23 at approximately 4:20 PM an Officer spoke with a Central Ave resident who reported they gave their social security number and credit card number to a party over the phone. The resident was given advice on how to proceed.
  • On 9/20/23 at approximately 5:37 PM Officers conducted underage alcohol compliance checks of all the stores and restaurants that hold liquor licenses in Needham.
  • On 9/21/23 at approximately 4:48 PM Officers responded to a Highland Avenue business for a larceny. The suspect was not found, and the incident has been documented. Investigation to follow.
  • On 9/21/23 at approximately 4:15 PM a Melrose resident made a complaint about an illegally parked motor vehicle. The complainant will be working with the Department of Transportation in their investigation of the matter.
  • On 9/21/23 at approximately 7:48 PM a Dedham Ave resident reported being the victim of identity theft. Fraudulent checks in Florida were cashed against his bank account.
  • On 9/21/23 at approximately 2:07 PM an Officer was dispatched to a Reservoir Street neighborhood for a report of a possibly abandoned motor vehicle. The matter was investigated, the owner of the vehicle located, and they were advised regarding the appropriate Town of Needham bylaws.
  • On 9/22/23 at approximately 7:29 AM an Officer was dispatched to a Cartwright Rd residence for a report of email fraud.
  • On 9/22/23 at approximately 1:16 PM an Officer was dispatched to a Highland Ave address for a report of Fraud. 
  • On 9/21/23 at approximately 2:50 PM an Officer responded to a Highland Ave business for a person potentially trespassing. The matter was investigated, and the party was identified and advised of relevant laws before leaving the area without issue.
  • On 9/22/23 at approximately 4:30 PM a Lancaster Road resident reported bank fraud.
  • On 9/22/23 at approximately 4:10 PM an Officer took a report of a larceny from a motor vehicle on Lincoln Street. The incident has been documented.
  • On 9/22/23 at approximately 6:56 PM Officers responded to a 1st Avenue address for a report of a stolen motor vehicle that was located on the property. The vehicle has been recovered, and the matter is currently under investigation.
  • On 9/22/23 at approximately 11:36 PM an Officer was dispatched to the Hersey train station for a report from the train’s conductor that there was an unruly passenger on board.
  • On 9/23/23 at approximately 1:15 PM a Greendale Ave resident came into HQ to report a problem with a neighbor. They were given suggestions on how to proceed.
  • On 9/23/23 at approximately 10:55 PM Officers responded to a 2nd avenue address for a report of a past larceny.  The matter is under further investigation.
  • On 9/24/23 at approximately 10:58 PM an Officer took a report of a suspicious email.
  • On 9/24/23 at approximately 1:21 PM an Officer was flagged down by a motorist and notified about a suspicious man on Kendrick St. Officers located the individual and he checked okay.

9/11/2023 to 9/17/2023

  • On 9/15/23 at approximately 8:15 PM an Officer responded to the area of Webster Street and Harvard Circle for report of an erratic operator.  The motor vehicle was stopped on Harvard Circle and subsequently the operator, a 33-year-old Medford man, was arrested. He is being charged with OUI Alcohol, Attaching Plates and Operating to Endanger.
  • On 9/11/23 at approximately 5:00 PM an Officer took a report of a stolen catalytic converter from a B St resident. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 9/11/23 at approximately 9:39 PM an Officer responded to a Bridge Street address for a report of suspicious activity. An investigation was conducted. The homeowner was advised.
  • On 9/11/23 at approximately 10:49 PM an Officer received information about a threat received by electronic communication.
  • On 9/13/23 A walk in party reported check fraud that happened in July. The Reporting Person reported the fraud to his bank.
  • On 9/12/23 at approximately 3:07 PM an Officer responded to a Highland Ave business for a report of a shoplifter. The items were returned to this store and the involved party left without issue. The business was advised on a letter of disinvite and the incident was documented.
  • On 9/13/23 at approximately 11:00 AM an Officer made a motor vehicle stop on St. Mary’s Street near Central Avenue. The operator was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License. A summons was issued.
  • On 9/13/23 an Officer was notified by a staff member at a school that an IPAD had been stolen over the summer. This investigation is ongoing.
  • On 9/13/23 a Charles River St resident came into HQ to report they believe they were the victim of hack.
  • On 9/13/23 at approximately 4:21 PM Officers responded to a Highland Ave business for a report of a disruptive customer. The Customer was gone upon Police arrival. Officers were able to contact the customer and inform them they were banned from the premises.
  • On 9/14/23 at approximately 4:12 AM Officers responded to a Tudor Road address for a report of three male parties attempting to break and enter into the home. Incident under investigation.
  • On 9/14/23 at approximately 4:25 PM an Officer was dispatched to the lobby to take a report of a stolen motor vehicle from a Rosemary Way parking lot. After an investigation, the vehicle was recovered and determined not to be stolen.
  • On 9/14/23 at approximately 4:18 PM a 2nd Ave resident reported she was scammed while trying to purchase a M/V.  Matter is under investigation.
  • On 9/15/23 an Officer took a walk-in report for identity fraud.  The reporting parties personal, business and clients information may have been compromised.  The party was advised and a report was taken. 
  • On 9/15/23 at approximately 10:02 AM an Officer responded to a Highland Ave business for a report of damage to a motor vehicle. The matter was documented and the reporting party provided with appropriate resources.
  • On 9/15/23 at approximately 2:56 PM a Bancroft St. resident reported her son’s bike was stolen from the Webster St. side of Needham High sometime between 9-14 and 9-15.  The bike was a Black TREK Marlin 5 Mountain bike.
  • On 9/15/23 at approximately 10:09 PM an Officer stopped a motor vehicle on Great Plain Avenue. After a brief investigation, a 26-year-old male from Dedham was summoned into Dedham District Court for Unlicensed Operation and scooter related violations.
  • On 9/17/23 at approximately 10:28 AM an Officer was dispatched to the area of Marked Tree Road and High Rock Street for a report of a possible erratic operator. The vehicle and operator were located, the matter investigated, and the operator was determined to be lost.
  • On 9/17/2023 at approximately 4:30 PM an Officer took a report of credit card fraud from a Vermont resident.

  • On 9/5/23 at approximately 6:51 AM an Officer took a walk-in report from a party whose online account had been compromised. They had already taken steps to protect themselves and planned on speaking with financial institutions to advise them of the situation.
  • On 9/5/23 at approximately 10:15 AM an Officer took a walk-in report from a Westwood resident involving a disagreement between them and staff at a Highland Avenue address.
  • On 9/5/2023 at approximately 10:40 AM an Officer took a walk-in report from a St. Mary Street resident regarding credit card fraud.
  • On 9/5/23 at approximately 5:20 PM an Officer responded to a Highland Ave residence for a report of identity fraud.  The matter was documented and is under further investigation.
  • On 9/5/23 at approximately 5:20 PM Officers responded to a Webster St address for a report of neighbor trouble.  Peace was restored and the matter was documented.
  • On 9/6/23 at approximately 11:17 AM an Officer was dispatched to the intersection of Central Avenue and Fisher Street on report of a deer struck by a motor vehicle. NPD Animal Control also responded to the scene and the animal was eventually dispatched and removed from the scene.
  • On 9/6/23 at approximately 1:33 PM an Officer stopped a vehicle on Dedham Ave. After a brief investigation the operator, a 22-year-old Brighton man, was charged with unlicensed operation, attaching plates and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
  • On 9/6/23 at approximately 6:53 PM a Fairfield Street resident reported being the victim of unemployment fraud. A report was generated to assist the reporting party.
  • On 9/7/23 at approximately 1:10 PM an Arlington Rd business owner came into HQ to seek advice on an issue they are having with a customer. The owner was given advice.
  • On 9/9/23 at approximately 11:00 AM an Officer responded to a Colonial Rd address for the report of found property. The homeowner found some items that they no longer wished to have while cleaning.
  • On 9/9/23 at approximately 8:00 PM an Officer took a walk-in report of a past disturbance that had occurred in the parking lot of a Highland Ave address.  The reporting person stated that after parking a white female started to bang on his window, record him with her phone, and verbally berate him.  He estimated this went on for approximately two minutes before the unknown woman walked off.
  • On 9/9/23 at approximately 9:28 PM an Officer stopped a motor vehicle on Hillside Ave near Rosemary Street.  After subsequent investigation, a 27-Year-old Needham woman will be charged with the following offenses: Failing to stop; Unregistered Motor Vehicle; and Operating Motor Vehicle with suspended/revoked registration.
  • On 9/9/23 at approximately 11:28 PM Officers were dispatched to the area of South St and Canterbury Lane for the report of a large number of juveniles walking along the roadway. Upon arrival the individuals were located. After a brief investigation it was discovered that a number of the juveniles were intoxicated and had been consuming alcohol at a house nearby. All the individuals were picked up by a concerned adult and a 58-year-old Needham man will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for furnishing alcohol to minors.
  • On 9/10/23 at approximately 8:31 AM an Officer responded to a Hillcrest Road address for fraudulent activity. The resident advised and the incident was documented.
  • On 9/10/23 at approximately 5:35 PM a resident of Greendale Ave reported money was taken from her cash app account. Investigation to follow.

  • On 8/28/23 at approximately 2:58 PM an Officer took a report of vandalism to a West Street building. A glass door was damaged when an object appeared to have been thrown at the door. The reporting party stated that the damage occurred sometime during the weekend.
  • On 8/3/23 at approximately 4:00 PM an Officer took a report of construction fraud. The incident has been documented. A 29-year-old resident of Roslindale, MA will be summoned to Dedham District Court for Larceny from person +65.
  • On 8/28/23 at approximately 8:32 PM an Officer was dispatched to a Central Ave address for a disturbance. Peace was restored.
  • On 8/28/23 at approximately 10:05 PM Officers were dispatched to the area of Ludwig Road for report of a group of youths damaging a stone wall.  There was underage drinking going on in a residence. A 16-year-old Wellesley resident will be summoned to court for furnishing alcohol as a result of hosting the event.
  • On 8/29/23 at approximately 11:38 AM an officer stopped a motor vehicle near the intersection of Highland Ave and Webster St. After a brief investigation, a 54-year-old Framingham resident will be summoned to Dedham District Court for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop at a red light.
  • On 8/29/23 at approximately 10:57 PM an Officer responded to a 2nd Avenue address for a report of possible vandalism. The matter has been documented.
  • On 8/31/23 at approximately 4:36 PM a Rosemary St resident reported that he lost his wallet.
  • On 8/31/23 at approximately 8:49 PM an Officer responded to a 2nd Avenue address for a report of identity fraud. The incident was documented and under further investigation.
  • On 8/31/23 at approximately 4:30 PM a Great Plain Ave resident came into HQ to report they were the victim of an online scam. They were given advice on how to protect themselves in the future.
  • On 9/1/23 at approximately 1:20 PM an Officer took a report from a party at a Highland Ave business. The reporting party explained their credit cards were stolen as a result of a scam. The matter was documented, and the reporting party was advised.
  • On 9/3/23 at approximately 3:27 an Officer responded to a CENTRAL AVE residence to take a report about a fraud. The reporting party stated that she had applied to rent at the address, but soon believed it to be a scam. The matter is currently under investigation.
  • On 9/3/23 at approximately 11:12 PM an Officer responded to a BRENTWOOD CIR for a report of banging late in the evening. After a brief investigation, a resident was advised to keep the noise down, which they agreed to.

  • On 8/26/23 at approximately 7:19 PM an Officer reported on the radio that he was flagged down by a motorist about a minor two car MVA that occurred in Needham Center. Officers located the accident at the intersection of Great Plain Ave/Dedham Ave. After an investigation a 56-year-old Winchester man was arrested for OUI-Liquor, Operating a MV with a revoked license, Negligent operation of a MV, and open container of alcohol.
  • On 08/21/23 at approximately 12:45 PM an Officer took a report from a resident regarding their vehicle being broken into while at a Kendrick St address. The reporting party explained two credit cards were stolen from their vehicle and used at a store in Braintree. The reporting party was advised, and the matter has been documented.
  • On 8/21/23 at approximately 12:30 PM an Officer was dispatched to Highland Ave address for a report of a disabled motor vehicle. An 83-year-old will be summonsed for operating a Motor Vehicle with a suspended registration.
  • On 8/21/23 at approximately 7:03 PM Officers responded to Highland Avenue business for a report of shoplifting. After an investigation, a 27-year-old Medfield man will be summonsed to Dedham District court for shoplifting. 
  • On 8/21/23 at approximately 4:50 PM Officers were dispatched to the area of Central Ave and Charles River St for a report of a hit and run, with a vehicle actively fleeing the scene. Dover Police notified that they were out with the two cars, involved in the crash, at a nearby Centre St, Dover, MA address. After an investigation, a 24-year-old Medfield man and a 35-year-old Holliston man will be summonsed to court for Negligent operation of a MV, Speeding, and passing violation.
  • On 8/22/23 at approximately 4:00 PM an Officer was dispatched to a Chambers St address for the report of a loud argument. After an investigation a 70-year-old Needham resident will be summonsed to court for A&B on 60+ year old person.
  • On 8/23/23 at approximately 11:15 AM an Officer responded to a Chambers St residence for the report of a stolen bike. The reporting party stated they believe someone stole their bike overnight. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 8/23/23 at approximately 12:11 PM an Officer responded to a Chestnut St address for the report of a suspicious individual. The workers at the bank stated that an individual came in multiple times that day and was acting suspicious. The incident was documented.
  • On 8/23/23 at approximately 2:26 PM a Glen Gary Rd. resident reported Unemployment Benefits Fraud.  Matter is under investigation through the Unemployment Benefits Fraud Dept.
  • On 8/23/23 at approximately 3:26 PM a Pinegrove St. resident reported a check she mailed to Fla. had been stolen, altered, and cashed out of state.  Matter is being investigated by an outside agency.
  • On 8/23/23 at approximately 6:15 PM an Officer took a report of a larceny from a Marked Tree Road resident. The incident has been documented.
  • On 8/24/23 at approximately 1:50 AM an Office encountered some juveniles at Defazio Field. Their parents were notified and took custody of them.
  • On 8/24/23 at approximately 1:30 PM a report was taken about damage to a room at a Chestnut St address. After an investigation a 32-year-old resident of Walpole will be summoned into Dedham District Court for Malicious Damage to Property.
  • On 8/24/23 at approximately 3:00 PM an Officer responded to a Highland Ave address for the report of suspicious phone calls. The reporting party was advised of their legal options.
  • On 8/24/23 at approximately 6:02 PM a Norfolk St resident reported identity fraud. They were given advice on how to protect themselves going forward.
  • On 8/24/23 at approximately 8:13 PM an Officer responded to a High Street residence for neighbor trouble.  Peace was restored and the incident was documented.
  • On 8/25/23 at approximately 3:05 PM a Hillside Ave business owner entered HQ to report an ex-employee who hadn’t returned some business owned computer equipment.  The issue was resolved with a phone call to the ex-employee.
  • On 8/24/23 at approximately 8:37 PM an employee of a Cabot St business called and stated they are having an issue with an Auto Dealer from Brockton and loan payments. The incident is under investigation.

  • On 8/14/23 at approximately 1:57 PM a Norfolk St resident came into HQ to report they were the victim of a scam. They were told there Zelle account was hacked and needed to move money to cover the hack. The account provided was fraudulent.
  • On 8/14/23 at approximately 2:55 PM an Officer received a report male party acting in a lewd and lascivious manner in his vehicle. The man was gone on arrival, however a description of the man and his vehicle was given by the witness. After an investigation, a 72-year-old Wellesley man is being summonsed to court for Lewd, Wanton, and Lascivious.
  • On 8/14/23 at approximately 12:30 PM a resident of Bridgewater, MA came into HQ to seek advice about his debit card being compromised. He was given advice on how to proceed and to contact the Police Department where it happened.
  • On 8/15/23 at approximately 10:57 AM an Officer responded to a Noyes Street address for a report of Fraud. The incident was documented, and the REPORTING PERSON was advised.
  • On 8/15/23 at approximately 1:18 PM a Westwood resident reported that a check they mailed in an outside mailbox at the Needham center Post Office was stolen and the payee was changed. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 8/15/23 at approximately 4:00 PM Officers responded to a Chapel St business for the report of an unwanted party. After speaking with Officers this party left without issue.
  • On 8/16/23 at approximately 8:05 PM an Officer responded to a Noanett Road address for fraudulent activity. The resident was advised, and the incident was documented.
  • On 8/17/23 at approximately 12:00 PM a Fairfax Rd resident turned in some property at the station.
  • On 8/17/23 at approximately 4:00 PM a person came into the Needham Police Station to report her purse was stolen from her motor vehicle while it was parked at a Highland Ave business in Needham.
  • On 8/17/23 at approximately 11:27 AM Officers were dispatched to a Chestnut Street address to assist employees at this business with a male party causing a disturbance. Peace was restored and the party was sent on their way without further incident.
  • On 8/17/23 at approximately 6:10 PM an Officer responded to a Fay Lane residence to take a report from an individual who fell victim to fraudulent activity on the internet.
  • On 8/18/23 at approximately 8:42 PM a Needham resident reported receiving a suspicious letter. The author of the letter was tracked down and it was determined to be a misunderstanding.
  • On 8/18/23 at approximately 11:47 PM Officers were dispatched to a Highland Avenue business for a report of a customer who forced their way into the premises that was currently closed for the night. This incident is under investigation.
  • On 8/19/23 at approximately 2:57 PM an Officer responded to a Paul Revere Road address for a report of a possible past fraud. The matter was documented, and the reporting party provided appropriate resources.
  • On 8/19/23 at approximately 7:00 PM an Officer responded to a report of suspected fraudulent activity at a Hunnewell Street address. The REPORTING PERSON was advised, and the incident was documented.
  • On 8/19/23 at approximately 8:14 PM Officers responded to a High Street residence for a report of neighbor trouble.  Peace was restored and the incident was documented.
  • On 8/21/23 at approximately 7:00 AM the Animal Control Officer investigated a previous dog bite issue. ACO told the dog owner the dog was placed on quarantine.

8/7/2023 to 8/13/2023

  • On 8/12/23 at approximately 8:57 AM an Officer was in the area of 275 2nd Ave, The Kendrick Apartments, in an attempt to locate a 40-year-old Needham man who was the subject 2 active arrest warrants and 2 active harassment prevention orders. He was eventually found and taken into custody. (See release on FB)
  • On 08/13/23 at approximately 12:40 PM Officers responded to a 1st Avenue retail store for a report of two people shoplifting. The parties in question fled the scene on foot. Both parties were stopped and one was arrested after a foot pursuit. A 47-year-old Boston man was arrested and charged with shoplifting by concealing merchandise – $705 worth of stolen goods. The other party, a 52 year old Boston man, has been summoned to Dedham District Court for shoplifting by concealing merchandise.  
  • On 08/07/23 A Meetinghouse Cir. resident walked into HQ to report a lost cellphone. The RP will follow up with his service provider. 
  • On 08/07/23 A Cranberry Lane resident reported their wallet stolen from their m/v that was parked outside their residence. The RP contacted their Bank.
  • On 08/07/23 at approximately 10:47 AM an Officer responded to a Pine Street address on report of a stolen motor vehicle. Further investigation by Needham PD and Somerville PD led to the recovery of the vehicle in Somerville, MA. The owner was contacted and reunited with their vehicle.
  • On 08/07/23 at approximately 3:00pm an officer responded to a Mason Road address for a report of vandalism. The matter is under investigation.
  • On 8/7/2023 a Bridle Trail resident reported that some of their vehicles were entered overnight. Nothing was taken.
  • On 8/7/2023 a Pine St resident came into HQ to report that 2 parties attempted to gain access to his vehicles. They did not gain access.
  • On 8/8/2023 an employee of a Kendrick St business reported that his automatic payroll info was fraudulently changed by an unknown party and their checks were diverted to another account.the incident is under investigation.
  • On 08/08/23 A Country Rd. resident reported a B&E to their motor vehicle. RP provided video of the suspect and was advised to lock doors. 
  • On 8/8/2023 at about 6:30 p.m An Officer responded to a Charles River St address for a report of suspicious mail. The incident was documented, and the victim was advised. 
  • On 8/8/23 at approximately 7:26pm a Rolling Ln resident entered HQ to report someone had hacked into her Facebook account to sell fraudulent Morgan Wallen tickets.
  • On 8/08/23 at approximately 8:10 PM an officer took a report, over the phone, of a possible stolen license plate at a 1st Avenue business. The matter is under investigation.  
  • On 8/8/23 at approximately 9:47 PM an Officer took a report of a past incident that happened on Needham Heights Common. The reporting party stated that her mother, were  approached by two teenagers after leaving Trader Joe’s on Needham Heights Common at around 8:50 PM. They were described as a male and a female. They were creating a disturbance.
  • On  08/08/2023 at approximately 11:06 PM an Officer was dispatched to a 2nd Ave address for a report of a past disturbance.
  • On 8/9/2023 at approximately 11:00 AM an Officer took a report of suspicious photos being taken of someones personal vehicle. The incident was documented. 
  • On 08/09/23 at approximately 11:56 AM officers were dispatched to a Charles River St. Work site for a male party that fell about 10-12 ft. off a roof. 
  • On 8/9/23 at approximately 2:20 pm an Officer responded to a Berkshire Rd residence to take a report of an aggressive dog. The reporting party explained they were walking their dog when another chased after them in an aggressive manner. The party was advised and the matter was documented. 
  • On 8/9/2023 at approximately 3:30PM Officers responded to a Highland Ave business for the report of an unwanted party. After speaking with Officers this party left without issue.
  • On 8/9/23 at approximately 10:00PM Officers responded to a 2nd Ave apartment building for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival all parties were separated. After a brief investigation, an arrest warrant will be sought for a resident of the building, a 40 year old Needham man, for assault, assault and battery (2 counts), and witness intimidation (2 counts). 
  • On 08/10/2023 at approximately 10:00 AM  an Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Manning Street and Hemlock Street. Following a brief investigation the operator, a 34 year old Framingham man, was issued a citation for unlicensed operation and an inspection sticker violation.
  • On 8/10/23 Officers responded to a Chestnut St business for the report of an employee who had been terminated but would not leave. Upon arrival officers spoke to all parties involved. It appeared that there was a misunderstanding over past owed wages and the situation was resolved without incident. 
  • On 08/10/23 A Whittier Rd. resident reported a stolen license plate. The plate was logged as stolen in NCIC. 
  • On 08/07/23 at approximately 10:45am an Officer responded to a Pine Street address and assist with an investigation. During that time, a stolen motor vehicle was recovered at a separate Pine Street address. 
  • On 8/7/2023 an Officer located  a stolen MV off of Pine St at the entrance of the dog park.The incident is under investigation.
  • On 08/10/2023 at approximately 5:17 PM a 24 year old Medfield resident was cited for failing to display a front license plate and operating with a suspended license. The operator will be summonsed to Dedham District Court.
  • On 08/10/2023, a Needham resident wanted to file a report about an appliance purchase in which he felt he was wronged. He was advised to go to small claims court. 
  • On 08/10/2023, a Country Way resident reported receiving unsolicited package deliveries. A report was taken. 
  • On 8/11/23 at approximately 10:29 PM Officers were dispatched to a Highland Ave address, for the report of a vehicle that had backed into a parked vehicle.
  • On 08/11/2023 at approximately 12:09 PM an Officer responded to a Highland Ave business for a report of a possible past fraud. The matter was investigated and a 29 year old Fitchburg man will be charged with uttering, forgery and attempted larceny by check.
  • On 8/11/2023 at approximately 1:46 PM an Officer responded to a 3rd Ave business for a report of a disturbance. The involved parties were separated, peace was restored and the matter resolved without incident. 
  • On 08/12/23 at approximately 1:45pm, officers responded to the area of Highland Avenue and Manson Road for a tree down in the roadway on top of a vehicle. No injuries were reported and the vehicle and tree were removed. 
  • On 08/11/2023, a Wellesley resident reported losing their wallet at a Highland Avenue business.
  • On 8/11/2023 at approximately 5:13pm, an Officer responded to a Harris Avenue residence for a report of vandalism. The matter has been documented and is currently under investigation. 
  • On 8/11/23 a 29 year old resident of Bellingham, MA was issued a summons for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Hunnewell Street. 
  • 08/12/23 at approximately 2:05pm, an Officer took a report of a lost phone from a Chestnut Street business.
  • On 8/12/23 Officer were dispatched to a Great Plane Ave business for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival all involved parties had left the area and peace was restored. 
  • On 08/13/2023 at approximately 2:14 AM the Needham Police Department responded to a CHAMBERS ST address for a disturbance.  Officers spoke with the involved party and the matter is being referred to the Needham Housing Authority.  
  • On 8/13/23 a Washington Street resident reported that a check had been altered after they had mailed it from the Needham Square post office.

7/31/2023 to 8/6/2023

  • On 7/31/23 at approximately 11:00 AM an Officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation on Highland Ave. It was also determined that the operator was did not have a license, only a permit. There were no licensed operators in the vehicle with him. The operator, an 18-year-old male from Boston, was placed under arrest and cited for an equipment violation and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. 
  • On 7/31/23 at approximately 8:55 PM Officers responded to a Highland Ave address on report of two individuals that were possibly soliciting magazines. A brief investigation revealed that one of the individuals had an active warrant. The 47-year-old Chicago, IL man was arrested on the warrant. 
  • On 8/4/23 at approximately 8:39 PM an Officer stopped a vehicle on Lincoln St. A brief investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen.  A 40-year-old Randolph man was arrested and charged with Use without authority and an equipment violation.
  • On 7/31/23 at approximately 9:45 AM an Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Highland Ave and Highland Ter. As a result of the stop, the operator a Waltham resident, was cited and will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for operating a motor vehicle with an expired inspection sticker, operating with a suspended license and operating a vehicle with revoked registration.
  • On 7/31/23 at approximately 11:30 AM an Officer responded to a Lincoln Street address regarding a past assault.
  • On 7/31/23 at approximately 10:00 AM a call for a past shoplifting from Sudbury Farms was investigated. Follow up investigation to be conducted.
  • On 7/31/23 at approximately 12:15 PM an Officer attempted to stop a motor vehicle on Highland Ave by Rt. 95. The vehicle initially came to a stop and the operator provided their license and registration. However, the operator then fled the traffic stop at a high rate of speed. The operator continued onto the highway and the pursuit was terminated for safety issues. Subsequently, a 20-year-old Quincy man will be charged with failure to stop for police, operating with a suspended license, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and speeding.
  • On 7/31/23 at approximately 12:05 PM an Officer responded to a Highland Avenue business for a past larceny.
  • On 7/31/23 at approximately 5:52 PM an officer responded to a Webster Street address to take a report of solicitors in the area.
  • On 7/31/23 at approximately 6:49 PM an Officer responded to a Highland Ave address to speak with a resident who stated they were a victim of fraud.  The matter was documented.
  • On 8/1/23 at approximately 1:30 PM an Officer responded to a Great Plain Avenue daycare for a report by an employee of a suspicious party.
  • On 8/1/23 at approximately 1:49 PM an Officer responded to a Gould Street business to assist and employer with escorting a recently terminated party from the property. The terminated party left without issue and peace was maintained.
  • On 8/1/23 at approximately 3:39 PM an Officer dispatched to the area of Fremont Street and Charles Street for a report of two juveniles who were possibly trespassing on the abandoned MBTA railroad bridge over the Charles River. The reporting party reported that he had observed the two youths in the area on 07/31/2023 as well.
  • On 8/1/23 at approximately 3:00 PM an Officer was dispatched to a 2nd Ave address for the report of a kitten stuck in a vehicle. The kitten was rescued and taken to Highland Animal Hospital.
  • On 8/2/23 at approximately 9:00 AM an Officer took a report of a past larceny from a Cabot St business.
  • On 8/2/23 at approximately 1:18 PM an Officer took a report of stolen trash barrels from a Park Ave resident.
  • On 8/2/23 at approximately 5:04 PM a Nehoiden Street resident came into the station to report unemployment fraud. The resident was advised, and the incident was documented.
  • On 8/2/23 at approximately 5:13PM a Hunnewell Street resident came into the station to report a disturbance. The incident was documented.
  • On 8/2/23 at approximately 8:46 PM an Officer took report about a past assault. A report was filed. 
  • On 8/2/23 at approximately 8:41 AM a Chambers St resident reported neighbor trouble.
  • On 8/3/23 at approximately 7:24 PM an Officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Great Plain Avenue and Pickering St. As a result of the stop, a 24-year-old Pickering Street resident will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for operating a motor vehicle while suspended.
  • On 8/3/23 at approximately 9:29 PM an Officer was dispatched to a Parkvale Road address for a report of a hacked email account. The incident was documented.
  • On 8/4/23 at approximately 4:13 PM an Officer took a report from a Lynn Road resident about a stolen package. The incident has been documented.
  • On 8/5/23 at approximately 4:47 PM an Officer responded to a Linden Street residence for an argument between neighbors. The incident has been documented.
  • On 8/6/23 at approximately 12:30 PM an Officer was dispatched to a 2nd Ave apartment building for the report of a suspicious person. The suspicious person had not done anything illegal and stated they would go back to their unit for the rest of the day. The incident was documented.

7/24/2023 to 7/30/2023

  • On 7/24/23 at approximately 4:10 PM. An Officer responded to a Webster Street address for a report of Fraud. The incident was documented, and the victim was advised.
  • On 7/24/23 at approximately 3:28 PM an Officer took a report of a larceny from a Bess Rd resident that his check had been stolen from the mail and cashed. The matter is currently being investigated.
  • On 7/25/23 at approximately 10:52 AM an Officer responded to a West Street business for a report of a possible disturbance. The matter was investigated, and peace restored without issue.
  • On 7/25/23 at approximately 12:13 PM Officers were dispatched to the area of Central Ave near the Newton Line for the report of a disturbance involving two vehicles in that area. After further investigation, a 53-year-old man from Bellingham will be summoned to Dedham District Court for the charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle.
  • On 7/25/23 at approximately 4:19 PM a Watertown resident reported that they were bitten by a dog while at a Central Ave address Needham. A copy of the report was sent to the Animal Control Officer for follow up.
  • On 7/26/23 at approximately 8:30 AM an Officer took a past report of an unwanted party at a Kendrick St office building.
  • On 7/26/23 at approximately 11:00 AM an Officer took a report of unemployment fraud from a 2nd Ave resident.
  • On 7/26/23 at approximately 3:10 PM an Officer conducted a traffic stop on Greendale Ave near Kendrick Street for a marked lanes violation.  The operator did not have a license or any paperwork to identify himself.  The operator a 26-year-old man currently residing in Framingham will be summoned to Court for Unlicensed Operation of a MV and Marked Lanes Violation.
  • On 7/26/23 a sex offender came into the station to report to register.
  • On 7/27/23 at approximately 3:30 PM. An Officer responded to an Eliot Road address for a report of Fraud. The incident was documented, and the victim was advised.
  • On 7/27/23 at approximately 3:00 PM an Officer took a report of a past hit and run which occurred in a Highland Ave parking lot.
  • On 7/28/23 at approximately 12:50 AM an Officer was alerted to a mailbox alarm from the Post Office on Great Plain Ave.  The mailbox was opened, and mail appeared to be missing. Officers checked other mailboxes in the area, but nothing appeared to have been accessed. The incident is under investigation. Residents should take precautions if they placed mail in the mailbox at the Great Plain Ave Post Office after hours on June 27th.  
  • On 7/28/23 at approximately 9:30 PM a 2nd Ave resident came into the station to report threatening messages. The incident was documented and is under investigation.
  • On 7/29/23 at approximately 10:08 AM a resident of Seabeds Way reported an item missing from his residence.
  • On 7/29/23 at approximately 10:38 PM Officers responded to a 2nd Avenue address for a fight in progress. After an on-scene investigation, a 40-year-old Texas resident will be summonsed to court for five counts of assault and battery.
  • On 7/30/23 at approximately 10:47 AM an Officer took a report via phone regarding a past instance of suspicious activity at Needham Town Common. The matter was documented.
  • On 7/30/23 at approximately 1:30 PM an Officer took a report from a High Street resident regarding a stolen license plate.
  • On 7/30/23 at approximately 3:33 PM a Needham resident came into the lobby to turn in a found item.

  • On 7/18/23 at approximately 4:30 PM an Officer took a report from an Elmwood Road resident that a check he had written was washed and cashed. He said the recipient never received the check. On 7/19/23, as a result of an investigation, a 33-year-old Los Angelos, CA man was arrested at the UPS facility in Norwood, MA awaiting delivery the items he fraudulently purchased. He was charged with IDENTITY FRAUD, ATTEMPTED LARCENY BY CHECK and RMV SIGNATURE, POSSESS/USE FALSE/STOLEN.
  • On 7/17/23 at approximately 2:12 AM an Officer responded to a B Street address for a report of fraudulent activity. The matter has been documented and is currently under investigation.
  • On 7/17/23 at approximately 1:25 PM Officers were dispatched to a Great Plain Ave address for a suspicious male lurking outside the house. The calling party stated that she was taking her mother to the doctor, and she saw the man standing on the sidewalk staring at her in front of the residence. The man was spoken to about the incident
  • On 7/17/23 at approximately 2:43 PM a Captain Robert Cook resident reported losing their green card.
  • On 7/17/23 at approximately 7:11 PM a Needham resident reported an altercation at a Rosemary Street address and requested the incident be documented.
  • On 7/17/23 at approximately 7:50 PM an Officer received information about fraud in another town.
  • On 7/18/23 at approximately 12:00 PM an Officer responded to a Marsh Rd address for an animal complaint. The ACO was investigating the conditions that a dog was being left in. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 7/18/23 at approximately 2:13 PM a Whittier Rd resident reported a Larceny of a check.  Matter is under investigation.
  • On 7/18/23 at approximately 4:57 PM an officer responded to a Webster Street address for past vandalism. The incident was documented and is under investigation.
  • On 7/18/23 at approximately 4:31 PM an Elmwood Rd resident reported that that a check they had written was washed and cashed. (See arrest)
  • On 7/18/23 at approximately 5:00 PM an Officer was dispatched to the High School parking lot for past property damage. The reporting person stated that anywhere from 5pm-12am, two tires on a trailer were slashed.
  • On 7/19/23 at approximately 10:30 AM an Officer took a walk-in report from a Mark Lee Rd. resident regarding a stolen license plate.
  • On 7/19/23 at approximately 2:00 PM an Officer took a walk-in report from a South Street business owner regarding suspicious text messages.
  • On 7/19/23 at approximately 2:22 PM an Officer was dispatched to a Dawson Drive address to take report of check fraud. The victim had already reported the matter to their bank and the bank had commenced its own internal investigation. The incident was documented with a police report.
  • On 7/19/23 at approximately 7:11 PM a Walnut St resident wanted to report a near collision that happened earlier in the day in the crosswalk on Webster St at May St. The reporting person said she did not strike the vehicle as she was pedaling her bicycle through the crosswalk but when she came to an abrupt stop before colliding with the vehicle, she injured her foot. The incident was documented.
  • On 7/20/23 at approximately 2:00 PM an Officer took a walk-in report of larceny from a Deerfield Road resident.
  • On 7/21/23 at approximately 11:02 AM an Officer responded to a Central Avenue residence for a report of fraudulent activity.
  • On 7/21/23 at approximately 6:21 PM a Harris Ave resident entered the station to report someone had used her credit card info to order a computer online.  Computer was intercepted and returned for reimbursement.
  • On 7/21/23 at approximately 7:02 PM an Officer responded to a Vara Ln residence for a report of a lost/stolen dog. The dog managed to escape the residence and was reportedly last seen in the parking lot of a Reservoir St. business being taken in a vehicle by an unknown female party.
  • On 7/22/23 at approximately 8:37 PM an Officer responded to a Webster Street address for a suspicious item. The incident is being investigated.
  • On 7/23/23 at approximately 12:45 AM officers responded to Chestnut Street for an incident between an Uber Driver and Uber passenger. The incident has been documented.
  • On 7/23/23 at approximately 12:05 PM an Elmwood Rd. resident reported a suspicious person in front of their property. The party left and the surrounding area was checked.
  • On 7/23/23 at approximately 7:43 PM an Officer was dispatched to a Highland Avenue address on report of a suspicious noise. NPD Dispatch reported that a 911 caller had reported hearing a group of juveniles inside the fenced-in construction site at this location. A group of teens were on the site and identified and spoken to.

7/10/2023 to 7/16/2023

  • On 7/10/23 at approximately 12:29 AM an Officer along with the Needham Fire Department responded to a Chestnut Street address for report of a mattress fire. The fire was extinguished and, after an investigation, a warrant for Arson and Malicious Destruction of Property was applied for and issued. On 7/12/23 at approximately 3:17 Officers arrested an 18-year-old Belmont resident on that warrant.
  • On 7/10/23 at approximately 12:50 AM an Officer was at a Highland Ave address and witnessed an issue between patrons and the employee. The patrons were told they were not allowed on the premises by the employee.
  • On 7/9/23 at approximately 1:33 PM a Rosemary Way resident reported damage to her m/v at a Highland Ave address. The reporting person was advised to contact her insurance company.
  • On 7/10/23 at approximately 2:32 PM a Great Plain Ave business reported that an ex-employee is using the company credit card. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 7/10/23 at approximately 5:15 PM an Officer responded to an A St parking garage for the report of a vandalized vehicle. The reporting party stated they left their vehicle in the garage while they were away for 6 weeks. When they returned, they found damage to the vehicle. The incident was documented.
  • On 7/10/23 at approximately 7:00 PM an Officer responded to a Chamber St for a past disturbance. A 70-year-old Needham woman will be summonsed on vandalism charges.
  • On 7/11/23 at approximately 11:30 AM an Officer responded to a Birch St address for the report of fraud. The victim stated that someone had applied for unemployment assistance using their information. The reporting party had already reported this as fraud to the proper agencies and taken steps to further protect their identity. The incident was documented.
  • On 7/11/23 at approximately 12:20 PM a report was taken from a leaving the scene accident at the Speedway gas station. Report filed and investigation ongoing. 
  • On 7/11/23 at approximately 12:11 PM an Officer took a report over the phone from a Meetinghouse Circle resident regarding check fraud. The reporting party stated that they mailed two checks at the Great Plain Ave post office outdoor boxes on 7/2/23. They received notification from their bank that it appeared the checked had been intercepted, washed, and deposited for different amounts. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 7/11/23 at approximately 3:32 PM an Officer took a report from a Gage St resident for a past car break. The reporting party stated that they left their vehicle unlocked over the weekend and someone had gone through it, taking a few small items, sometime over the weekend. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 7/12/23 at approximately 11:49 AM an Officer spoke to a Hawthorne Ave resident regarding fraudulent credit card activities. The incident was documented, and the resident was advised.
  • On 7/12/23 at approximately 1:08 PM an Officer spoke to a Melrose Ave resident regarding fraudulent activities. The incident was documented, and the resident was advised.
  • On 7/12/23 at approximately 2:07 PM a Greendale Ave. resident reported damaged luggage and missing items after returning home from a flight.
  • On 7/12/23 at approximately 12:48 PM an Officer followed up with the resident of Robinwood Ave regarding dog issues in the Town Forest.
  • On 7/12/23 at approximately 7:06 PM an Officer responded to a Sachem Road address for a report of a past larceny. The matter is currently under investigation.
  • On 7/12/23 at approximately 7:38 PM an Officer responded to a Chambers Street address for a verbal argument between neighbors.
  • On 7/13/23 at approximately 4:00 PM an Officer was dispatched to a Highland Ave business for the report of a past larceny. The matter is under investigation.
  • On 7/14/23 at approximately 1:45 AM an Officer responded to a Chambers St address for a fire alarm. The panel in the building had been tampered with.
  • On 7/14/23 at approximately 3:27 AM an Officer responded to a Chambers St address for possible vandalism. A banister had been broken in a stairwell. The damage was documented.
  • On 7/14/23 at approximately 11:15 AM Officers responded to a Glen Gary Rd address for a report of a person causing a disturbance. All parties were spoken to and advised. The matter was documented.
  • On 7/14/23 at approximately 1:55 PM after a motor vehicle stop on Great Plain Ave a 23-year-old resident of Boston will be summoned into Court for Oper an MV with Suspended Registration, Oper a MV with a Suspended License and an Inspection Sticker Violation.
  • On 7/14/23 at approximately 3:55 PM Officers responded to a Chambers Street address for an active robbery and assault in progress. As a result of an investigation, a 59-year-old Stoughton man was later arrested for armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
  • On 7/14/23 at approximately 5:32 PM an Officer was dispatched to a Nehoiden St address for a report of credit card fraud. 
  • On 7/14/23, at approximately 6:15 PM an Officer took a report from a business about suspicious mail. The sender was contacted and agreed to stop any further activity.
  • On 7/14/23 at approximately 3:50 PM an Officer took a report from a South Street resident regarding check fraud.
  • On 7/15/23 at approximately 12:54 PM an Officer A Hunting Rd. resident reported a credit card fraud. The victim canceled their credit card and contacted the fraud department.
  • On 7/15/23 at approximately 7:06 PM an Officer was dispatched to a Hillside Ave residence for report of harassing text messages.  The reporting party was advised, and the incident was documented. 
  • On 7/15/23 at approximately 9:15 PM an Officer was dispatched to Walker Gordon Field for a report of a suspicious motor vehicle.  Party was sent on his way.
  • On 7/16/23 at approximately 1:42 PM an Officer took a report of a past stolen check from an outdoor mailbox in the Great Plain Avenue area. The reporting party stated that the check was used in an attempted larceny in Arlington. Arlington PD was advised by the bank of the incident.
  • On 7/16/23 at approximately 4:06 PM was dispatched to a Rosemary Way residence for report of a suspicious letter.  The incident was documented.

7/3/2023 to 7/9/2023

  • On 7/3/23 at approximately 12:45 AM an Officer was dispatched to a mailbox alarm activation at a Great Plain Avenue mailbox. The incident was documented and is under investigation.
  • On 7/3/23 at approximately 8:08 PM an Officer was dispatched to a Highland Ave residence for a report of a suspicious package and phone calls. The matter was investigated.
  • On 7/5/23 at approximately 11:17 AM an Officer was conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Hunting Road and observed a motor vehicle travelling in excess of the posted speed limit. Following a motor vehicle stop and a brief investigation the operator, a 30-year-old Everett man, was issued a citation for operating after suspension of his driver’s license and speeding.
  • On 7/5/23 at approximately 7:11 PM a 50-year-old resident of Fitchburg, MA was issued a summons for abandonment of a motor vehicle on Great Plain Ave by the Dedham town line.
  • On 7/6/23 at approximately 8:10 AM an Officer took a walk-in report of fraudulent credit card charges from an Armen Way resident. The matter is under investigation.
  • On 7/6/20 at approximately 3:10 PM an Officer responded to the area of Hillside Ave and Webster St for the report of a vehicle that struck a utility pole. Upon arrival it was discovered that the vehicle lost a wheel but continued driving. The vehicle and operator were located nearby a short time later. After a brief investigation the operator, a 68-year-old Needham woman, was arrested for OUI liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, and marked lanes violation. 
  • On 7/7/23 at approximately 10:20 AM units responded to a call for a male drinking alcohol in public on Great Plain Ave. A 58-year-old Boston man was placed into protective custody as a result. 
  • On 7/7/23 at approximately 3:50 PM Officers responded to a Hunnewell Street address for a report of a possible vandalism. After an investigation, it was discovered that an accident had occurred. The damage was repaired.
  • On 7/7/23 at approximately 8:03 PM an Officer took a report from a Highland Avenue resident who was contacted by an individual impersonating her cable provider and was able to obtain her banking information.  This matter is under investigation at this time. 
  • On 7/7/23 at approximately 9:29 PM a complaint at a Chambers Street residence was made concerning possible damage to building property. A report was generated to document the event.
  • On 7/7/23 at approximately 10:36 PM an Officer responded to a Second Avenue address for a report of a suspicious person. The person was gone on arrival. A report was taken.
  • On 7/8/23 at approximately 11:00 AM an Officer took a report of a past motor vehicle breaking and entering from a Marshall St resident. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 7/8/23 at approximately 1:24 PM a report of a stolen motor vehicle was taken from a Birchwood Rd residence. The vehicle was already located by the owner in the area. Report filed.
  • On 7/9/23 at approximately 3:01 PM an Officer was dispatched to a Douglas Rd address for the report of a past breaking and entering. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 7/9/23 at approximately 3:53 PM a Rosemary Way resident reported ID fraud. The incident was documented.
  • On 7/9/23 at approximately 4:44 PM an abandoned motor vehicle was towed from a Cricket Field parking space.

  • On 6/26/23 at approximately 1:00 PM an Officer took a walk-in report from a St. Mary Street resident regarding fraudulent charges for a vacation rental.
  • On 6/26/23 at approximately 2:00 PM an Officer took a report of a past motor vehicle B&E on Sunrise Ter. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 6/26/23 at approximately 2:00 PM a report of a damaged and broken into vehicle was taken from a Hasenfus Circle resident. Investigation to follow.
  • On 6/26/23 at approximately 3:00 PM an Officer visited with resident Glen Gary Rd.  This was in relation to string of motor vehicle B&E’s that occurred around Needham.
  • On 6/26/23 at approximately 4:10 PM an Officer was dispatched to a High St address for a reported hit and run crash in the driveway.
  • On 6/26/23 at approximately 4:11 PM. An Officer responded to a Warren Street address for a report of a B&E to a vehicle. The matter is under investigation.
  • On 6/26/23 at approximately 4:40 PM an Officer stopped a motor vehicle on Great Plain Ave. After a brief investigation it was determined that the operator had an active warrant out of Dedham District Court. Subsequently, the operator, a 45-year-old Needham woman was placed under arrest for the warrant. She was also charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, crosswalk violation, and failure to stop for a red light.
  • On 6/26/23 at approximately 4:50 PM an Officer responded to a 2nd Avenue apartment complex for a report of a package that had been stolen.  The incident was documented, and the matter is under investigation.
  • On 6/27/23 at approximately 1:00 PM an Officer took a report of unemployment fraud from a Webster Park resident.
  • On 6/27/23 at approximately 5:15 PM a resident of Norfolk St reported a past B&E to her motor vehicle.  The matter is under investigation. 
  • On 6/28/23 at approximately 9:00 AM an Officer took a report of fraud from a Stevens Rd resident.
  • On 6/28/23 at approximately 9:30 AM an Officer was dispatched to a Hillcrest Rd residence for the report of land surveyors coming onto her property and damaging it. There was no damage done to private property. All parties were spoken to, and an agreement was reached.
  • On 6/28/23 at approximately 1:00 PM a Central Ave resident reported that their unsecured vehicle had been entered.
  • On 6/28/23 at approximately 2:51 PM Officers were dispatched to Fuller Brook Road for a neighbor dispute. The matter was a misunderstand and all parties were satisfied with the result.
  • On 6/28/23 at approximately 10:16 PM an Officer was dispatched to a Central Ave Apartment for a report of identity fraud. The matter was investigated.
  • On 6/29/23 at approximately 10:00 AM a Parkman Way resident came to the station reported missing jewelry first noticed on May 2nd of this year. An insurance claim has been filed.
  • On 6/29/23 at approximately 10:30 AM an Officer took a walk-in report for bank fraud from a Newell Ave resident. The reporting party stated that someone had used their personal information to steal approximately money from their bank account. The theft happened in Maryland. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 6/29/23 at approximately 11:30 AM an Officer took a report of suspicious activity at a Charles River St address. The reporting party stated that there is a car that comes to the neighborhood at all hours of the night, plays loud music, and waken their family up. The reporting party was advised that a report will be made and to call the police next time the car shows up playing loud music.
  • On 6/29/23 at approximately 1:00 PM an Officer took a walk-in report from an Oak St resident concerning a suspicious event. The resident stated that at approximately 7:00PM the evening prior, a man carrying a bucket walked up their driveway, rang the doorbell, and walked back down the driveway and away from the residence when no one answered the door. The incident was documented.
  • On 6/29/23 at approximately 7:10 PM an operator was pulled over for having a suspended license. The operator, a 25-year-old Framingham resident, was summoned to court for operating with a suspended license and speeding.
  • On 6/30/23 at approximately 12:00 PM an Officer responded to a Chambers St residence for the report of a suspicious event. The reporting party stated that they believe someone entered their residence and replaced their makeup with a different makeup. The incident was documented.
  • On 6/30/23 at approximately 3:15 PM Officers responded to the area of Great Plain Ave and Highland Ave to assist a detail officer in the area due to an individual who was asleep at the wheel. The individual in question, a 46-year-old Lakeville man, was arrested for OUI Drugs (marijuana).
  • On 6/30/23 at approximately 3:56 PM an Officer responded to a TILLOTSON RD address for a disagreement over a moving contract. Upon my arrival and a brief investigation, it was determined that the matter was civil in nature, and the Officer stood by to keep the peace before all parties left the scene without issue.
  • On 7/1/23 at approximately 4:57 AM Officers responded to Richdale Road for a report of multiple individuals unloading items from one vehicle into another then fleeing the scene leaving one of the vehicles behind.  After a brief investigation it appears the vehicle was stollen and involved in criminal activity.  The investigation is currently ongoing. 
  • On 7/1/23 at approximately 7:47 AM an Officer responded to a Tower Ave residence for a report of vehicles being entered at some point over night. Nothing was taken, but the glove boxes and center consoles had been opened and gone through.
  • On 7/1/23 at approximately 8:30 AM a report was taken for a motor vehicle break in from a Paul Revere residence. Report filed.
  • On 7/4/23 at approximately 8:40 AM Malden PD located a vehicle stolen from a High St address in their town. The investigation is ongoing.
  • On 7/1/23 at approximately 8:45 AM an Officer was dispatched to a Paul Revere Rd address for the report of an unlocked car that had been entered overnight. The reporting party stated that it appeared someone had entered their vehicle in their driveway overnight. The vehicle was unlocked. The incident is under investigation.
  • On 7/1/23 at approximately 9:11 MA an Officer received information regarding a car that was stolen from a Paul Revere Rd address in Needham. This is under investigation.
  • On 7/1/23 at approximately 9:48 AM an Officer took a report from a Tower Street residence regarding a past breaking and entering to a motor vehicle. The matter is currently under investigation.
  • On 7/1/23 at approximately 12:21 PM an Officer took a walk-in report from a Tillotson Rd. resident for a report of breaking and entering into her residence. The reporting party stated that a number of personal papers and bank papers were taken from her residence. The matter is under investigation.
  • On 7/1/23 at approximately 2:38 PM an Officer responded to a Linden Street address for a report of an ongoing neighbor dispute. The involved parties were spoken with, the matter documented, and the reporting party was advised of their options.
  • On 7/1/23 at approximately 4:10 PM a Birds Hill Avenue resident reported a possible stolen catalytic converter. It was determined that converter was still intact.
  • On 7/1/23 at approximately 4:10 PM a resident of Highland Ave reported a suspicious male.
  • On 7/1/23 at approximately 8:04 AM an Officer took a report from a resident of Tower Ave. that their unlocked vehicle had been entered overnight. A container of loose change was taken.
  • On 7/2/23 at approximately 3:05 PM an Officer responded to a Green Street residence to take a report of identity fraud. The incident has been documented.
  • On 7/2/23 at approximately 6:51 PM an Officer took a report of ID Fraud from a Green St resident.

6/18/2023 to 6/25/2023

  • On 6/19/23 at approximately 12:08 AM Officers were dispatched to a Highland Avenue business for a report of aggressive customer.  The customer had left the business before officers arrived and the incident was documented.
  • On 6/19/23 at approximately 11:50 AM an Officer took a report from a Bobsled Dr resident. The reporting party explained their identity was used to open a credit account. The party has already taken the proper measures to protect their credit in the future and the matter was documented.
  • On 6/19/23 at approximately 12:40 PM an Officer responded to a STANDISH RD address to take a past report of attempted breaking and entering to a motor vehicle. The reporting party stated that sometime in the evening hours between 6/14 and 6/15 an unknown person attempted to gain forced entry to his motor vehicle. Entry was not gained, and no items were stolen.
  • On 6/19/23 at approximately 7:00 PM an Officer took a report from a Valley Rd resident about a suspicious object that was placed on the exterior of his residence.
  • On 6/20/23 at approximately 8:10 AM an Officer responded to a GREAT PLAIN AVE address for an abandoned motor vehicle.
  • On 6/20/23 at approximately 8:17 AM an Officer responded to a PINEWOOD RD address for a report of a vandalism to a rose bush. The reporting party stated that at some point in the last month, an unknown person came onto her property to cut her rose bush. The reporting party also reported several other suspicious events she observed.
  • On 6/20/23 at approximately 10:50 AM a resident of 2nd Avenue, they reported their passport had been lost in either late May or early June.
  • On 6/20/23 at approximately 3:00 PM a walk-in party from Central Avenue, reported that two iPhones she ordered to be delivered via FedEx did not arrive as scheduled. The matter is under investigation.
  • On 6/20/23 at approximately 3:42 PM an Officer responded to a Stacy Lane address for a report of a past B&E to a Town of Needham property. The matter was documented and is under investigation.
  • On 6/20/23 at approximately 6:12 PM an Officer conducted a traffic stop on Greendale Ave near Paul Revere Road for defective equipment.  The vehicle also had a rejected inspection sticker and an unrestrained child walking in the backseat area.  The operator had an international driver’s license form and stated that they have lived in Massachusetts for 3 years.  The operator a 42-year-old female currently residing in Brookline MA was summoned to Court for Unlicensed Operation, Child Under 8 without a car seat and Defective Equipment.
  • On 6/21/23 at approximately 8:12 AM a Chestnut Street business reported finding drug paraphernalia in their facility. The property was seized and marked for destruction.
  • On 6/22/23 at approximately 1:32 AM Officers responded to a First Avenue business for an unwanted party in the lobby. The party eventually left the premises, and the incident was documented.
  • On 6/22/23 at approximately 7:14 AM Officers responded to a 1st Avenue business for an unwanted party. The party eventually left, and the matter has been documented.
  • On 6/22/23 at approximately 12:30 PM a 2nd Ave resident came into the station to report being confronted near a business on 1st Ave regarding possibly being on private property. A report was filed.
  • On 6/22/23 at approximately 2:33 PM a Greendale Ave resident came into the station to report Identity Theft through fraudulent charges from a utility company. Report filed.
  • On 6/22/23 at approximately 6:30 PM an operator was pulled over on Highland Ave. The operator had a suspended license. The operator, a 42-year-old Needham resident, was summoned to court for operating with a suspended license.
  • On 6/22/23 at approximately 6:09 PM Officers responded to a Prince Street address for a report of a suspicious party in the area. After a brief investigation the party was identified as a solicitor and they were advised of the appropriate Town by laws.
  • On 6/22/23 at approximately 8:45 PM Officers were dispatched to a Garden St address for a report of an individual laying on the ground.  Officers located a 38-year-female who appeared extremely intoxicated. She was taken to BI Needham under protective custody.
  • On 6/22/23 at approximately 10:08 PM Officers responded to a 2nd Ave apartment for a report of suspicious person. A report was taken, and the incident is under investigation. 
  • On 6/23/23 at approximately 11:36 AM a South St resident reported she was possibly being scammed by a contractor she hired to do work on her residence.  Matter is under investigation.
  • On 6/23/23 at approximately 3:47 PM an Officer spoke with a Forest St resident about potential unemployment fraud.
  • On 6/23/23 at approximately 4:05 PM Officers were dispatched to a Highland Ave business for a report of shoplifting. The suspects were identified and were sent a letter of disinvite to stay away from the store in the future. No pending charges.
  • On 6/24/23 at approximately 1:46 PM an Officer responded to a Melrose Ave address for a report of a past instance of identity fraud. The matter was documented, and the victim provided with appropriate resources.
  • On 6/25/23 at approximately 8:30 AM an Officer was dispatched to a Warren St address for the report of a car break in. During the early morning hours of 6/25/23 many cars were broken into across Needham. The incidents are under investigation.
  • On 6/25/23 at approximately 6:47 AM an Officer was on West St and noticed an out of place vehicle in the driveway of a residence.  A check of the registration revealed that the vehicle was stolen.  The matter remains under investigation.
  • On 6/25/23 at approximately 8:08 AM an Officer responded to a South Street address for a report of a past motor vehicle breaking and entering. The incident was documented, and the matter is under investigation.
  • On 6/25/23 at approximately 9:58 AM an Officer responded to a Norfolk Street address for a report of a past breaking and entering to a motor vehicle. The incident was documented, and the matter is under investigation.
  • On 6/25/23 at approximately 5:16 PM an Officer responded to a Kenny Street residence for a report of online accounts being hacked.  The report was taken, and the matter is under investigation.

6/12/2023 to 6/18/2023

  • On 6/12/23 at approximately 12:33 PM an Officer responded to a HIGHLAND AVE address for a report of a disturbance. After a brief investigation all parties left the scene without further incident.
  • On 6/12/23 at approximately 1:02 PM an Officer received information about a suspicious message from an unknown person received at a Central Ave address. A report was taken for documentation purposes only.
  • On 6/12/23 at approximately 1:40 PM an Officer was dispatched to a Lincoln Street address for a report of past threats that were made to a resident.
  • On 6/12/23 at approximately 2:21 PM an Officer responded to a Grove Street residence for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Following an investigation, the operator, a 70-year-old Needham resident, was placed under arrest for OUI.
  • On 6/13/23 at approximately 8:40 AM an Officer responded to a Highland Ave business to assist a part locating property. After a brief investigation a 43-year-old North Reading male was placed under arrest for the following charges, Unlawful Possession of a Class E Substance (MGL 94C/34), Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle (MGL 90/34J), and Number Plate Violation to Conceal Identity (MGL 90/23/G).
  • On 6/14/23 at approximately 8:15 AM an Officer responded to a West Street business to investigate a report of a possible operating after suspension incident. Following a brief investigation, a 48-year-old Upton man was charged with operating after suspension of his driver’s license.
  • On 6/14/23 at approximately 7:39 PM an responded to a Fairview Road address for a report of a business matter. The Reporting Person was advised that the matter is under investigation.
  • On 6/15/23 at approximately 1:00 PM an Officer took a report of vandalism at a Second Ave address. The reporting party explained a television was damaged and required a report for replacement purposes. The matter was documented.
  • On 6/16/23 at approximately 1:36 AM Officers responded to a B Street Address for a report of a male party refusing to leave the premises. Peace was restored and the party eventually left the premises. At approximately 2:34 am that male party returned to the address again. Peace was again restored, the party was assisted, verbally trespassed from the property and left the premises without issue.
  • On 6/16/23 at approximately 5:51 AM an Officer responded to a Central Avenue address for a report of damage to town property. The damage has been documented and is under investigation.
  • On 6/16/23 at approximately 11:20 AM Officers responded to a Lawton Rd address for a report of a possible breaking and entering. The reporting party explained it appears her residence was broken into while she was away over the last week.
  • On 6/16/23 at approximately 5:03 PM Officers responded to a Highland Ave business for a reported shoplifter. The shoplifter had been caught by store employees attempting to walk out of the store with approximately $90.00 worth of groceries. The store declined to press charges. The 63-year-old Needham woman was advised she will receive a letter of dis-invite and is no longer welcome at the store.
  • On 06/17/23 at approximately 9:14 AM a Page Rd resident came to the station to report his license plate was stolen from his vehicle. The reporting person noticed the front plate was missing when the vehicle was in his driveway. He then noticed the rear plate was damage and believes someone attempted to take the rear plate as well.
  • On 6/18/23 at approximately 12:14 PM Officers responded to a Highland Avenue business for a potential shoplifting. During the investigation, no merchandise was stolen, and the suspect was no trespassed from the business. The incident has been documented.

6/5/2023 to 6/11/2023

  • On 6/5/23 at approximately 10:05 AM an Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Dedham Avenue and George Aggott Road on tan Lincoln Town Car. A 70-year-old Needham resident was cited and will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for not having an inspection sticker, attaching wrong motor vehicle plates and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
  • On 6/5/23 at approximately 2:00 PM an Officer responded to an Evelyn Road address for a past larceny. A 38-year-old former Needham woman will be charged.
  • On 6/5/23 at approximately 3:15 PM Officers responded to the intersection of South Street and Fisher Street for a cyclist that had been struck by a motor vehicle. The operator of the vehicle, a 36-year-old female West Roxbury resident, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license.
  • On 6/6/23 at approximately 3:01 PM an Officer witnessed a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist, while the cyclist was crossing in the crosswalk on Great Plain Ave. After checking on all parties involved it was determined that there were no injuries, and the collision was very minor in nature. The operator of the vehicle was issued a citation for crosswalk violation.
  • On 6/6/23 at approximately 4:55 PM an Officer responded to the intersection of Webster Street and Powers Street for a crash involving two motor vehicles.
  • On 6/6/23 at approximately 7:29 PM a 37-year-old resident of Framingham, MA was issued a summons for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Great Plain Avenue.
  • On 6/7/23 at approximately 1:39 PM an Officer was dispatched to a Webster Street address for a report of past threats being made to the resident.
  • On 6/8/23 at approximately 10:30 AM an Officer made a motor vehicle stop on Dedham Ave. A 52-year-old resident of Newton was issued a criminal citation for Operation after Suspension.
  • On 6/8/23 at approximately 3:20 pm an Officer took a report from a Second Ave resident regarding credit card fraud. The reporting party was advised on what to do and the matter was documented.
  • On 6/8/23 at approximately 5:29 PM an Officer responded to an Edgewater Drive address for a report of Fraud. The incident was documented, and the victim was advised.
  • On 6/8/23 at approximately 5:37 PM a walk-in party at the station reported that they were involved in a verbal dispute at a Highland Ave business. The matter was investigated.
  • On 6/9/23 at approximately 9:20 AM a resident of Gayland Road reported unemployment fraud under her name. Report filed.
  • On 6/9/23 at approximately 2:30 PM an employee off a Chestnut St address reported the theft of her cell phone while at work. Report filed.
  • On 6/9/23 at approximately 2:45 PM an Officer responded to a Glen Gary Road address for a report of a motor vehicle accident. No people were injured in the accident.
  • On 6/9/23 at approximately 4:47 PM an Officer was dispatched to a 2nd Ave apartment complex for a report of a past assault. The incident was investigated.
  • On 6/11/23 at approximately 2:44 PM an Officer took a walk-in report from a Hillside Ave address for the report of identity fraud. The reporting party stated it seems as if someone had accessed their bank account and opened up a credit card in their name. The reporting party was advised on how to best protect their personal information and the incident was documented.
  • On 6/11/23 at approximately 7:31 PM a resident of Moseley Ave reported threats.
