Tonight, Jan. 16, Needham High School seniors will unveil their chef d’oeuvres as part of the annual art show that is the culmination of their high school art careers.
The show features works such as altered books, in which students transformed old books into 3D sculptures, and chiaroscuro self portraits done with dramatic lighting and white charcoal on black paper. Other pieces on display were created outside of school and showcase a wide range of styles. The students are looking forward to unveiling their work. Guests “can expect a lot of cool work from a lot of cool people,” said artist Sal Caceres.
“I’m super excited,” said senior Caroline Mahar. “It’s everything we’ve worked for since freshman year.”
The grand opening of the Senior Art Show will be in the Needham High School library from 6:30-8 p.m.
