There is no immediate impact on the Town of Needham from the federal government shutdown, according to Deputy Town Manager for Finance Dave Davison. “While there could be an impact on individual citizens, that too will probably not happen immediately,” he said. “Social Security payments will not be delayed so there is not an impact to seniors who rely mostly on the monthly pension payment for living expenses.” Depending on how long the shutdown continues, Davison said, “there may be longer-term issues for services and projects which can impact local government, private businesses and people.”
