Needham has implemented a mandatory, non-essential outdoor water use restriction. Effective now, outdoor watering is restricted to Sundays before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. This does not apply to handheld watering which is allowed daily.
The restriction follows recommendations from the Massachusetts Drought Management Task Force which voted to recommend to place the Southeast Region, which includes Needham, at a Level 1/Mild Drought Category. Updates and FAQs about the water restrictions will be posted on the town website.Â
